Anniversary of Ukraine’s independence

On August 24, 1991 Ukraine’s Independence was declared. Today’s anniversary of this event is a good opportunity to examine the results of 33 years of Ukrainian independence.

Unfortunately modern Ukraine may only boast about its rather dubious “achievements”, among them are:

- a sweeping campaign of Ukrainisation and promoting a Banderite mindset;

- nurturing anti-Russia sentiments, outlawing all things Russian and Russia-related;

- persecuting the Russian Orthodox Church;

- war on monuments;

- forced mobilisation;

- loss of sovereignty and complete reliance on the United States and other Western countries for support;

- censorship, rampant corruption and lawlessness;

- refusal to hold fair and democratic elections.

The principles of a free, democratic state envisioned in The Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine (1990) and the Ukrainian Constitution (1991) are flagrantly violated by the modern Kiev regime, which is transforming the country into an authoritarian Russophobic entity with a neo-Nazi ideology. At the same time the Western countries, including Sweden, are ignoring the nationalist essence of today’s Ukraine and keep sponsoring the militarist ambitions of its leadership.

The very existence of this hostile state near Russian borders is a direct threat to peace and security of our country, which calls for our fitting response. In this regard Russia is leading the special military operation to de-Nazify and demilitarise Ukraine and eliminate threats coming from its territory. Thesegoals will undoubtedly be achieved.
